More than 80,000 pictures were submitted by 5,000 photographers for this year’s World Press Photo Contest. Photo of the Year was won by the Turkish photographer Burhan Ozbilici for his photograph capturing the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, in December. August 22, 1969: Day of The Beatles Last Photo Shoot
On August 22, 1969, 2 days after finishing their final recording session, the Beatles came together at Tittenhurst Park, home of Yoko Ono and John Lennon in Sunninghill near Ascot, Berkshire, for photo session that they didn’t know would be their last.
